Plateau of Valensole

The Valensole plateau is a natural region of France located in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence , south-west of Digne-les-Bains , between the valleys of the Durance to the west, the Asse to the north, Gorges du Verdon and Lake Sainte-Croix to the south. Its average altitude is 500  m and it extends over 800  km 2 . It is crossed by the Asse valley , which separates it into two asymmetrical parts.

ISLAND OF SOCOTRA Socotra or Soqotra, between the Guardafui Channel and the Arabian Sea, is the largest of the four islands in the Socotra archipelago. The territory is near major shipping routes and is officially part of Yemen, and had long been a subdivision of Aden Governorate.
